Skin first: a quiet approach to makeup

The most refined makeup often uses less product — because the skin underneath was prepared properly.

When makeup separates, creases or looks heavy, the instinct is to add more: more primer, more powder, more setting spray. Often the better answer is earlier in the routine.

Hydration is not the same as oil

Dehydrated skin can still be oily. Treating shine with mattifying products alone can leave skin tight and flaky by midday. Light hydration first, then targeted oil control, keeps the base flexible.

Let each layer settle

Giving skincare a minute to absorb before primer, and primer a moment before foundation, does more for longevity than any single product.
